Guest Verification Overview (Coming soon!)

Guest Verification powered by our partnership with Autohost allows property managers to request and review identity and background checks for incoming guests directly within Breezeway Messaging. This feature helps reduce fraud, prevent bad bookings, and provide PMs with greater confidence before guest arrival.


High Level Overview - How the Guest Verification Flow Works

  1. A verification link is sent to the guest

    Sent through an automated message or manually if chosen.

  2. The guest completes a short verification process

    This includes uploading an ID and confirming some personal information.

  3. Breezeway works with AutoHost to review the information

    You’ll be able to view completion status in Breezeway Messaging and in the reservation details.

  4. Your team gets notified only if manual review is needed

    If verification requires review, you can review an email notification directing you to the details of what needs to be checked.

Configuring Your Verification Risk Level

You will decide default risk level that will be applied to all of your properties. These risk levels will determine the kinds of checks and balances that will be done per guest verification performed. This will be done through the self service onboarding phase of Guest Verification, but can also be changed at any time in your Settings -> ID Verification.

Note: Property level overrides can be done from the properties table, under the ID Verification drop down column.

Verification Link Delivery

You have the ability to send guests a unique verification link via Auto Messages, or manually send inside Messaging. A few important notes:

  • Verification links are reservation specific.

  • Auto message triggers depend on:

    • The Guest Verification auto-message event being present on an active auto-message.

    • PMS reservation import via integration providing a valid guest phone number.

If you're not using Messaging, you can leverage Guide links that will re-direct to the verification link.


Guest Verification Flow

Once a guest clicks the link, they are guided through:

  1. Introduction Page with a Picture of the Property

  2. Personal Information Fields

  3. Identity Submission (government ID scan + selfie match)

    1. Choose an ID Type to Verify

    2. Scan ID

  4. Final confirmation and status update within Breezeway

    1. Thank you page when status is back from Autohost as Requires review.

    2. Thank you page when status is back from Autohost as Verified. If the guest is approved or verified status on their verification and you are utilizing Guide, we’ll provide a button for them to access their reservation guide link. If the guest has been flagged for manual review, the "Open Guidebook" link will be hidden.

If a guest does not complete the flow, the status in Breezeway will be noted as Pending.
